Adscope 601 Stethoscope, Compare to Cardiology III

The ADC Adscope 601 is engineered for performance, comfort, and versatility.  The bi-lumen (dual channel) headset optimizes the acoustic pathway while our adjustable frequency (AFD) technology allows you to tune the diaphragm to enhance high and low frequency response in both the adult and pediatric diaphragms.  Or convert the pediatric diaphragm to an extra deep bell for unsurpassed low frequency response.  The ergonomic cardiology headset, made with heavy walled tubing, large-diameter aural tubes, and a double-leaf tensioning spring, wears easily while withstanding thousands of cycles.  Our Cardiology Series features an all stainless steel construction (tactical finish has black anodized aluminum binaurals), ensuring a lifetime of use.

  • Convertible chestpiece provides adult diaphragm/bell or adult/pediatric diaphragm configurations
  • ADC’s AFD technology provides enhanced acoustic response in both adult and pediatric diaphragms
  • Light pressure for low, bell-type frequency, firm pressure for high, diaphragm-type frequency
  • Chestpiece precisely CNC machined to exacting tolerances from surgical stainless steel for outstanding performance and rugged durability
  • Extra-deep bell for unsurpassed low-frequency response
  • Ultra-sensitive gasketed diaphragms with AFD technology for greater amplification
  • Non-chill bell and diaphragm retaining rims for patient comfort
  • Cardiology headset with large-bore stainless-steel binaurals fixed at 15° angle to maximize comfort and acoustic seal (tactical model with black anodized aluminum binaurals)

Affordable alternative to Littmann

I used to own a Littmann classic stethoscope and seemed to have lost it at some random hotel I was travelling through. Anyway, losing it prompted me to look for another stethoscope and I figured I would explore another brand this time. PERFORMANCE: When stethoscope companies label a stethoscope as a "cardiology" stethoscope it typically is because of the thicker tubing, presumably causing more sound insulation so that you can hear "heart sounds" better. This model offered acceptable sound insulation although I cannot say without a doubt that it offers better acoustics than other models. PRICE: Cardiology stethoscopes from Littmann cost at minimum 120$ so this model can be purchased at almost half the price. A really big plus. AESTHETICS: The massive tubing gives the stethoscope a high quality feel but the ear buds are made of PVC just like the tubing which makes them uncomfortable for the ears. To my knowledge Littmann just uses "regular" rubber for their ear buds. OVERALL: Virtually identical performance for nearly half the price, I recommend this model with the exception of the uncomfortable ear buds. P.S. I am a first year resident in Internal Medicine if you were wondering what I am using this for.

I had a Littman stethoscope for more than 20 years but had to replace it when the tubing became stiff and inflexible. I purchased a Littman Cardiology III and was very dissatisfied with the feel of the earpieces in my ears. Fortunately, I lost it about a year after purchasing it, so I was at a quandry at which stethoscope to buy next. As an NP student, I needed quality without a huge pricetag. I believe I have found that in the ADC Adscope 601. I received as advertised a brand new scope in the mail well packaged and protected. It has a very solid feel without being heavy. To test it, I placed it on my palm and gently touched the back of my hand and I could hear clearly the light contact through my stethoscope! Best yet, I can reposition the earpieces if I need to, just like one of the other more expensive brands. According to ADC, there are 2 springs in theirs allowing some repositioning by the wearer. Though I didn't need to make any adjustments, I am glad I can. So far, I am very pleased with the look, feel, and quality of my new stethoscope--especially when one considers the difference in cost from the other two.
Great Product!!

I am having a great experience with the ADC stethoscope. This is the first time Iam using a stethoscope that is not from Litman, and I am loving it!
As good as the Littmann Cardiology

I'm very surprised at how good this stethoscope is. My Littman died after 10 years, and this was a great less expensive replacement.
